Simone Hoermann, Ph.D. 

I am a Clinical Psychologist with a private practice in Midtown Manhattan, and am a faculty member of Columbia University in the Department of Psychiatry. I facilitate psychotherapy and skills training groups at the Columbia East 60th Street Day Treatment Program.

BACKGROUND AND TRAINING

I received my Ph.D. from the University of Innsbruck in Austria, and completed several years of pre- and postdoctoral fellowships at Weill Cornell Medical College.

From from 2003 to 2004, I was a fellow of the American Psychoanalytic Association, and trained in  Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy at the Columbia Anxiety and Traumatic Stress Program.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests include effectiveness of psychological interventions and relationships between health care providers and patients.
